July 2008.

Graduated from college with tons of work experience. Couldn’t find a job. Moved back in with my parents. Worked for dad. Dad is a lawyer.

February 2009.

Started working as a teacher. Funding for education sucks. No job security.

October 2009.

Stopped teaching and took a job as a travel agent for a cruise line. Took lots of vacations. Became a stressed out salesperson.

March 2010.

Turned 25. Asked what the f&#! I was doing with my life.

July 2010.

Went back to work for dad. He needed the help and I needed a change.

December 2010.

Made a bet with dad that I couldn’t get into law school because my practice LSAT scores were no bueno. Dad took the bet and believed in his little girl. How cute.

February 2011.

Took the LSAT. Got a 151. Eh, whatever.

March 2011.

Applied to 8 law schools in Florida. Got into 5 of them. Chose Nova Southeastern University. Yay for me.

July 2011.

Had a great summer. Started having a nervous breakdown once I realized this was actually happening. Had another breakdown once I realized how much it was going to cost. Decided I’d go to night school and keep working with dad.

August 2011.

Started at NSU. High fives to all my 1Ls. Orientation was fun and gave me a false sense of optimism.

September 2011.

Suffered a few breakdowns. Lots of self doubt. Remembered I have great friends. Formed a study group. Torts is fun. Contracts scares me.

October 2011.

Suffered more breakdowns. Even more self doubt. Didn’t do so well on the midterm. Vowed to study more. Fell in love with my study group. Realized I should see a doctor about getting some adderall.

So now I’m here. A 1L about halfway through the first semester. God help me.
